How to Stop Fighting
Step #7
For More Information |
This tutorial just scratches the surface of dispute resolution strategies. Much, much more information is available, both on the Web and in books.
If you are interested in exploring some of these topics further, we recommend:
- CRInfo -- This is the Conflict Resolution Information Source, a clearinghouse site that has listings for resources discussing almost anything people might want to know about conflict and dispute resolution.
- Look at the core knowledge articles (second link on the center column), 60 articles that describe, in about one page, the key topics that visitors might want to know about (family, workplace, and community conflicts; communication skills; mediation; arbitration; and 54 more).
- Look at the "FAQs" (5th link on the left) for answers to frequently-asked questions.
- For a more in-depth but structured learning experience, check out "Conflict 101," a 40-hour online training program on the basics of conflict transformation and dispute resolution.
- Alternatively, for more information and longer articles, look at Beyond Intractability. Though its primary focus is on difficult and intractable conflicts, this site has many longer articles (2-10 pages) that discuss topics of interest -- both to those facing extraordinarily challenging conflicts and disputes, and also to those involved with more "ordinary" situations. So it has more detailed articles on many of the topics in this tutorial.
- Both CRInfo and Beyond Intractability have lists of other websites and books likely to be of interest. CRInfo can be searched by topic, or users can browse through the topic list; Beyond Intractability is searchable as well, and has a more modest number of sources listed at the end of each topical article.
