How to Stop Fighting
Step #4
Fighting Fair: Developing a System for Handling Disputes

A_122 (13K)

Option A. Base the plan on agreed-to principles of fairness and justice.

This is a good start. The dispute resolution plan should be based on concepts that each person agrees with.

For example:

  • All decisions should be made jointly through consensus.
  • Or (alternatively) one person will make the decisions on some issues; the other will decide different issues.

Neither approach is right or wrong, but both people need to agree that the chosen approach is fair.
