Option B. Agree with your partner and stay home.


This is a lot like the "give in" option discussed earlier in the escalation unit.

  • If you are persuaded that your partner is right -- that you really don't have enough money -- then this might be the best option.


  • But presumably, the reason you advocated Florida was (1) you really wanted to go there, and (2) you really do think it is feasible.

If that is the case, then giving in this easily will be frustrating for you, and over the long term may actually hurt the relationship as much as more adversarial approaches would.
